The Founding Team

All of our software engineers graduated from renowned universities and look back on profound experience in international project collaboration. Being expert members in standard groups and speakers at professional conferences, our team is not just on top of current trends, but also shapes the future by actively pioneering emerging developments in the IT sector.

Jan Schulz-Hofen, M.Sc.

Jan Schulz-Hofen studied Software Engineering and Management at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) in Potsdam, Germany, and at the Ecole d’Ingénieurs des technologies de l’Information et du Management (EFREI) in Paris and holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering. Prior to the foundation of ROCKET RENTALS, Jan worked as researcher and scientific consultant at SAP and Software AG in France, Canada and the United States.

During this period, Jan was speaker at various conferences and (co-) author of several scientific articles. Jan is an expert group member of JSR-311 JAX-RS, the Java API for RESTful web services.

Boris Ruf, M.Sc.

Boris Ruf holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and wrote his thesis at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 (LIP6), France. Before, Boris earned a B.Sc. in Software Engineering from his studies at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) in Potsdam, Germany, and at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to the foundation of ROCKET RENTALS, Boris worked at SAP research labs in France and Canada.

The focus of Boris' university research was artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, during which time he published several papers and spoke at conferences.
