Boris Ruf holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and wrote his thesis at the Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6 (LIP6), France. Before this, Boris earned a B.Sc. in Software Engineering at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut (HPI) in Potsdam, Germany, and at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to founding ROCKET RENTALS, Boris worked at SAP research labs in France and Canada.
The focus of Boris' university research was artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, during which time he published several papers and spoke at conferences.
Dr. Simon Fauser studied International Management at the University of Karlsruhe, the University of Sydney, ESB Reutlingen and Reims Management School and holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Methods from the Università Cattolica, Milan. He is a business advisor in the fields of service management and organisational development. He consults companies spanning from those in an early start-up phase to large, established enterprises. Simon teaches and researches at the universities of Reutlingen (ESB), Heilbronn, Stuttgart (VWA/BA) and the European Fernhochschule Hamburg. As a business advisor for ROCKET RENTALS, he implements his extensive experience in applied economics.
Simon has published several books as well as journal articles about service management in the field of quantitative simulation modelling and management (Web 2.0 et al).
Co-founder and former director Jan Schulz-Hofen left ROCKET RENTALS in spring 2011 and continues his operations at LAUNCH/CO GmbH.
